Short bio
Martin Wimmers is a neuroscientist at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and the Donders Institute, where he researches brain-state-dependent transcranial ultrasound stimulation. He co-founded the pilot platform Aviatr, is a private pilot, and speaks in English, German and Dutch.
Long bio
Martin Wimmers is a PhD candidate at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour. His research asks how the brain can be stimulated without surgery, by timing transcranial focused ultrasound to the state the brain is in. He came to neuroscience by an unusual route, from a technical Abitur in Wesel through a BSc in psychology at Radboud University to an MSc in cognitive neuroscience at the Donders Institute. Alongside his research he co-founded and leads development at Aviatr, a platform for pilots, and earlier founded a brand and web studio and co-organised Symposium Synesthesia, a multisensory art event. He holds a private pilot licence and flies out of Teuge. Martin speaks in English, German and Dutch about neurotechnology, careers in science, building products and the science of attention.
